QUESTIONS ABOUT PLASTIC SURGERY?

Hi All,
I am 6 months out and have 36 more lbs to go. I was just wondering if I need to wait until I reach my goal to look into some plastic surgery? My ins will pay for my breast surgery, because I had breast cancer about 4 yrs ago. Does any one know of some websites that I can go to, to check on plastic surgery, get more information, before and after pic? Has anyone on here had plastic surgery?
I am still feeling pretty bad. I go to my family Dr. this coming up Wed. Still have headaches everyday, weak. I am going to have her to give me a going over.
I hope and pray everyone here is doing great. Weight myself in the morning when I get home.
God Bless
Evie

You can always "look" into it just to find out the costs and find a Doctor you prefer. As for us WLS patients they want you to be at goal and be at least 1 year out because the body will adjust and change after you hit your goal.

Years ago I had lipo and the doctor wanted me to be at or within 10 pounds of my desired weight. For implants, the doctors vary.

you definitely want to be at goal and a maintainable weight. if you have plastics then lose another 20-30lbs im told you wont be happy with the result.

plastic surgery is a major insult to the body so i would recommend waiting until you feel healthy and strong to proceed. the recovery for my tummy tuck, breast lift, and augmentation is going to be way harder and longer than VSG.

im having mine november 3rd. its is ideal to wait longer to make sure you can maintain your plastic surgery weight. i have extenuating cir****tances and its now or never, but i am at a weight that my body seems to like and stay around.

Sassy I have a q? for ya.

How often do the implants have to be replaced? I am tired of surgeries and not sure I want to be changing out boobies until I am too old to care what size they are.

Im having silicone implants, they usually need to be replaced around 8-10 years but my doc also has some clients who have had them over 10 years.

This will be my 3rd surgery THIS YEAR so the prospect of surgery in 8-10 years doesnt bother me too much. Ideally, I would never have a man made object implanted into my body but I want my boobs back, dammit!

For the weight loss related PS, most surgeons prefer to wait until you are at goal for a consult and do not want to do surgery until you have maintained for 6+ months (your needs may change as your weights lowers or stabilizes).

Hello how are you? nice to see you on here again. My doctor is still not in his office so no snacks yet sorry. On plastic surgery I was told  18 months out is best . My insurance is changing in January to a insurance my surgeon knows will not pay for my tummy tuck.

So 3 weeks ago he said he will do mine at 15 months out because of the insurance change. I am getting ready to have mine on Monday. God bless ya hope your feel better soon.

My surgeon gave me the tool. Now it is up to me to use it right.

Hey Valerie,
Good to hear from u. Can you tell me all about the tummy tuck that you know? I really don't know the answers that some want to know on this post. I would hope the breast would be a one time thing, but don't know. Keep in touch with me and let me know how the surgery went. Be praying for you.
God Bless
Evie
