Pepcid Question

I do not know of any reason why we shouldn't swallow whole pills; I've never heard that all should be crushed or chewable, and my doctor doesn't seem to think that's true.

The only pills that I take in chewable form are the ones that are otherwise very large, like vitamins & calcium. I've been taking small & medium sized pills & capsules since the morning after my surgery with no problems.

 By a week out from surgery my doc told me I could take pills as long as they where not the HUGE ones like antibiotics, so I have been taking my pepcid every day since then with no problem. 

Thanks everyone.  I called the Dr. on call for today.  I was told I could swallow pepcid.  They do not want me swallowing very large pills.  I swallow my synthroid but in the hospital they gave me liquid synthroid.  I swallowed it with no problems.  Thanks for all your help.

I had prescription pepcid and I crushed it for 2 weeks then my doc said I could swallow it.
