Was sleeved on monday and have had a horrible recovery BUT the nausea and pain are starting to get better. What is not better is this painful stiff neck that is making it hard to lay down, sit up, turn my head, etc. It is also giving me a massive headache. Cant figure out what this could be from. Did anyone else experience this? I am taking pain meds daily, but it is primarily for my neck and not for other pain (can deal with the other pain). I feel like they dropped me on my head during surgery and forgot to tell me. I am living with the heating pad on my neck.
Likewise with the fever.... if your temp is up, call right now.
If you're fine otherwise, they probably wrenched your head a little too far when they stuck your breathing tube and the bougie/stomach tube down your gullet. When they do the surgery, they put a cylindrical form on a tube down into your stomach to keep it in shape while they run a combination stapling and cutting machine up the side to cut, close and remove the rest of your stomach. They need a straight shot to get it in, and can pull a little hard. I too had a sore neck for a while. When you feel better, you may want to visit a chiropractor to get things lined up again. Maybe a friend or loved one with good fingers can give you a nice massage to loosen up the muscles.
Hope you feel better soon.
