i feel like im doing this all wrong. i'm at another stall. the second stall this month. i was stuck at 296 for 2 weeks then lost 10 pounds over 2 weeks. now im stuck at 286 for a week and however much longer. its really annoying. i like to see loss every week. i hate protein drinks. i need to find a way to get my protein in. i think thats part of the reason why im not losing fast. i also need to exercise more. im eating pickles & sunflower seeds as well as some candy. i know none of these things are good for me. but what else is fast cheap and easy? im so scared ive stretched out my stomach. i can eat a whole snack sized bag of doritos. i think ive fallen off the train and just need to get back on. and part of the reason i let myself get discouraged is when i dont see progress. back to my old fears (of everytime i lose, i gain right back). someone give me words of widsom please!

I had my surgery the day after yours I've also been fighting a stall. I however have been good and not ate any candy. I thinks stalls are normal but I do think you need to stop eating the bad stuff and get your protien in or else you may stall for a lot longer. You've done so great so far don't let something like a stall that almost everyone goes through let you mess it up. The pickles are full of sodium too so you may be retaining water from them so I would cut down on them. I know you can do this you just have to get back on track and in the mindframe you were right after surgery when you were rocking your sleeve. This is a wonderful tool and if you follow the rules you will succeed.

I think somethings that may be fast cheap and easy (and cheap shouldn't be your main concern but I do understand saving money, but we eat so little cheap isn't that big of a deal) I would get cheese, canned tuna, and today I bought Honeysuckle Itailian style turkey meatballs. There are 12 in a package for under four bucks and I could only eat two, I put about 1/4 cup of spagetti sauce and sprinked some cheese on top and nuked it for about a minute, it was very yummy. It had 11 grams protien in the meatballs and 3 in the cheese and only about 3 carbs. You can do this get your mind right you didn't have this surgery done to go back to your old ways. I have started getting hungry more often and am craving things I shouldn't have but if I take care of my hunger the cravings usually subside.

Good luck, you got this!

Hi, please try harder, you can do this and you deserve it. Put your scale away for bit and just try dealing with finding ways to get your protein in,there are somany protein bars out there to choose from and trader joes has a very nice snack called puffs they look like pop corn taste great 3grams.Look I am only a month out and my weight is slow go but thats find I say to myself it took me a long time to get where I am. I am just so happy I can wear the clothes in my closets,I could not 30 days ago.Just take the smaller goals the larger ones are on the way.You have done a great job you come so far think back to where you started your journey dont throw it away.We can do this god bless keep us post.

You need to take charge in order to succeed with this...you CAN do it!!!

To make things easier on yourself, you should take some time on your days off to prepare meals for the week and freeze them. Then you can package them up and just grab one when you are in a hurry. In addition to trying to avoid the carb/calories of the snack foods, you should also watch the sodium. Some of that stuff is loaded and will result in retaining water. Have you experimented with different things to improve the flavor of the protein drinks? The fruity ones mixed with crystal lite aren't too bad. The protein bars will give you more protein, but you shouldn't have them every day...most are loaded with carbs. If you aren't tracking your intake, you probably should be. It may help you stay on track.

Hang in there!

I'm gonna try something new.....for me.....(be nice....still without sugar coating)

You already know what's up.......

Our numbers are about the same as far as starting weight and goal weight....

There are some people that can get away with eating a more liberal diet......doesn't sound like your one of them and neither was I.....

I can only share with you what I did.......

My suggestion for you is to try this for 7 full days.....No cheats.....you only cheat yourself!

- 600 to 800 cals a day (closer to the 600 if your not exercising)
- 70+ grams of protein a day
- 40 grams or under carbs.
- 64oz. fluids
- Low Sodium
- Walk 45 min. a day
- Keep your meals in the 3oz. range.
- NEVER NEVER NEVER eat till your full.....Most common mistake people make. Eating till your full if how we got fat. Eat fixed/measured amounts of food.......under eat your sleeves capacity.

I followed this to lose 190lbs. If you can do it another way......you win !!!

If you want to lose the numbers that others lose......you gotta do what they do.....

Hope this helps.....

Hi Frisco, love all of your posts. You are such an inspiration and motivator! Thank you for being here with your good advice to all. Had a question for you. I am just now getting ready to start tuna salad, chicken salad. Do you have a good recipe for both or either? I am a good cook, just a little worried about how to make this and what to add to it in this mushy soft stage of my plan.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I just love the recipes and pictures you post!!!!

Personally I wouldn't start chicken yet.....it was the very last protein I was cleared on.....even after beef or pork. Chicken lunch meat may be better or maybe ground chicken. The worst would be chicken breast.
Even canned Albacore tuna can be a little tough...... I'd start with a soft white fish.....

I can't tell you what to eat.....just can share what I was told.....

All that said.....what ever protein you decide on..... make it "Wet".......

A light/quick blender or food processor with some kinda liquid or gravy....soups work great.

I still eat my proteins with some kind of lube.

Further out you can try tuna and chicken salads with Greek Yogurt/Mayo....little chicken stock and some spices..... curry, chili powder.....just get it wet.

Hope this helps....

Aw, thank you so much, that's what I will do. Greatly appreciate the response. I am trying to learn from successful and experienced vets like yourself. I am trying to ignore some of the stupidity, why do people have this surgery if a couple months out they are eating sugar and chips? I don't get it. I have a plan and it's success. So once again thank you, because of people like you, those of us who are serious and really want to have a new life have great examples! Have a great day!!
