6 months out... pics included...Alcohol Abuse??
When we take away one way to cope with stress, you HAVE to replace it with something else. If food was a source of solace, and a place to go when you were stressed, and you haven't found something positive and healthy to replace the eating....something WILL come up to fill that space. For you, it sounds like it's beer. On one hand it is the perfect way to soothe yourself --- easy to drink, goes down well, and makes you just a bit numb.
But the problem is, is that when you wake up in the morning, the stressors are still there, nothing has been solved, and you've got a hang over.
Call AA. Go to an AA meeting in your area. There are AA meetings everywhere. Introduce yourself and ask for help. Ask for a sponsor, ask for some people to call who have been where you are before.
If that doesn't work for you, get yourself into a therapist.
You really need to have someone to help talk to you and listen to you, and walk through this with you.
I think there are forums here that deal with cross over addictions. You might try posting there.
In the mean time, change your habits. If you are going out and drinking with friends, change your work hours, and go walking after work with different friends. Borrow someone's dog and take the dog for a long walk afer work instead. Go to a gym and work out for an hour instead of having a drink. Change your routine and do something different instead. Then get yourself some support systems in place.
Feel free to pm me if you want.

I have been trying to replace my addiction to food with different activities. Today- I am going to a new woman owned range to learn how to shoot a gun! I figure working towards my license will keep me busy, even though I don;t intend (at least right now) to ever carry a gun! So, a stressful day or I get bored- I stop at the range on my way home!! Should be good for my arm muscles too! And best thing- you can't drink before you go!!
You have lost a lot of weight!!! That is amazing- don't cut yourself short!

I feel the same exact way. I thought I would be like a twig by now. I started at 263 and I am at 174 and I am almost 8 months out. I still have some weight to lose but you know what, lets be glad we are losing slowly, we are letting our skin catch up :), you look great and I'm glad you are feeling good!!!
