Food Funeral, anyone?
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I was one of those that said I was not going to have a food funeral because why would you do that? You are having WLS to change your life and you need to put that old mindset aside because that is what makes you fat! I sounded so perfect and textbook and lived up to that until . . . the week before surgery!
I don't know whether it was nerves or a last minute panic, but I went to Family Dollar and spent over $20 in junk food! You name it I had it. Popcorn, 8 pack of Butterfinger Crisp, all type of candy, Oreos, Pringles sour cream and onion chips, pizza, etc etc etc. I ate at an Indian Restaurant that was my old favorite, buffet . . . etc etc. I gained 10 to 11 lbs since my 1 week preop visit!
So, the funny thing is that I always have to add 11 lbs to the total loss that my surgeon office has on file. So my advice is plan to eat healthy and change your mindset but if you panic and give in it is okay. That is part of the reason that you are having surgery in the first place and with the change surgically, at least in the beginning, it will be impossible to do those things again. Hopefully in that "impossible period" you will seriously redo your mindset and continue with your new healthy habits.
