AHHHHH!
what were you eating in the pureed stages post-op? Do beans, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes fall into this category does mushy qualify as pureed? I am supposed to be on a high protein diet and I cannot stomach any type of protein supplement;[ Please give some insight ideas on foods and snacks for 1 month post op;] The only thing that seems to not come back up are soups im sooo sick of soup;/ Does the stomach get better with time for instance at one year post op will I be able to eat a turkey sandwich again healthy options but not mushy or liquids I tried milk today not a good idea;/ Id love to hear your food experiences....
Soft food stage:
Non-fat Greek yogurt (not regular), non-fat cottage cheese, various forms of soft Tofu, various forms of egg, baby food (meat only, not fruit or veggie). Pass on mashed potatoes, they're all carbs and no protein, exactly opposite of what you want.
You can also make protein Jello, and protein pudding.
Keep trying protein shakes until you find one you can deal with - you're going to need them.
Good luck!

I am also one month post op. I have been slowly introducing more foods. I haven't had anything come back up (knock on wood) but am learning to read the signals from my new stomach. I usually have:
1. Chobani plain greek yogurt (I cup, 23 g of protein)
2. Breakstones 2% cottage cheese (186 grams, 18 g of protein)
3. 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of lowfat cheese (about 20 g of protein)
4. 3 oz of turkey breats blended with either yougurt, light mayo, or a low fat gravy I make myself (about 20 g of protein)
5. Vegan Boca Burger (patty only) at Red Robin (23 g of Protein)
The boca burger, I had only one last night) I mushed up with the fork before eating. It tasted really good and fit into my diet plan nicely. Sometimes I get full very fast, eggs seem to hit me especially hard. If you are too full to eat dont force yourself. I am still learning how to listen to my new stomach. Sometimes if my protein intake is too low I replace dinner with a protein shake. I use Body Fortress Whey Protein Isolate (130 - 140 cal, 30 g of protein per 8 oz serving).
Good luck!

I couldn't stand a lot of the protein either, then I found Nectar. Its thin, and they have some that are like crystal light...use more water than they suggest though or its too sweet. The good part about them is that there thin. I live on the chocolate truffle. I take a scoop of it (24 g protein) mix it with my Almond milk (unweetened vanilla 40 calories 2 carbs) then I take a teaspoon of decaf instant coffee and shake it in my blender bottle, tastes like iced coffee... finally one I actuallylike.
You can get a sample pack of all there flavors for like 13 bucks. Anyway worked for me! Good luck sister!

I just ordered the variety sample pack from SI03. Someone here had posted that they are doing the $13 for 13 samples. No ship/handling fees either. LOTS and LOTS of protien!!
www.SI03.com (866) 333-7403 you have to call them though to get the sampler.
Have you tried the Isopure drinks? They taste like watered down Gatorade. Not horrible, but I can get them down if they are real cold.
Good Luck!!!
