Curious, how much did you loose before surgery?
I lost a total of 33 lbs in 4 months by following the 1200 calorie diet recommended by my program, but I reduced the calories to 900-1000, because I wanted to get my required 10% off quickly and I am only 4'11. I weighed and measured my food and used an online tracking tool. I learned a very valuable lesson during that time, weighing and measuring my food and logging my food helped to make me successful. I continued those behaviors after surgery and continue to perform them to this day. I have been maintaining within a 2 lb range since mid-April. Because I lost so much pre-op, I reached a normal BMI at 5.5 months and my goal weight in 7.5 months Granted, I was a light weight, but I have lost a 100 lbs from my highest weight, which is quite a bit for a petite middle-aged woman.

I ordered a journal for tracking thanks to your post- I can totally see how it helps. I was soooo off before I started writing it down! Thank you for sharing!

My heaviest weight ever (right around 380) was at Christmas time last year. I started the process to get the sleeve in Jan 2011 and will have surgery Jan 12, 2012.
I have lost down to 338 so far this year. To be honest - I could have done much better if I was actually "dieting". I just changed a few habits and added some walking to my schedule.
So I guess I have lost 42 lbs approx this year. I may lose quite a bit more since I am tapering off my carbs and will be strict low carb starting 3 weeks prior to surgery. So I am hoping to be at 330 or lower by surgery. We shall see....my surgeon doesn't have a strict pre op diet like a lot of others....he just wants to see continual progress in a downward direction...but no specific targets.
