WOMEN...how do we do this????
I was also told okay by my doctor, just be cautious... he says it's a calculated risk that he is comortable with. In fact, I was on 600mg 3-4x a day at 6 days out because my period was SOOO out of control... I was really nervous, but had NO trouble... I have probably taken it 6 times in the past 5 months... no trouble.
My doctor even said that on a rare occasion he has even had his RNY patients use NSAIDS... with a PPI, because sometimes you just have to take a calculated risk... he says looking at everything in black and white only doesn't help anyone... I respect him, and I agree...
BUT... each person totally has to make their own call on this one...
I subscribe to the camp that continued use of NSAIDS is a plus of the VSG....

I was also told the risk for ulcers is higher if I take ibuprofen but my doc said if it is taken in moderation, it should be fine. And for bad cramps, one ibuprofen is better than 4 tylenol. I take the gel caps so they will dissolve pretty quick and I assume pass on through as liquid. I'm just guessing, but it makes since to me that a regular ibuprofen pill that sits in your stomach for a while while dissolving is probably worse than the gelcap or liquid. But I'm no doctor so I could be wrong about that.
