What have I done?!

This new found confidence from the VSG has made me sign up for a 10k run/walk in August of 2012!  I was going to do the 5k (I can walk a 5k but this would be my first time running it).  And what do I click instead?  The 10K button!  Immediately went on the treadmill and walked a mile after I did it.  Have 8 months to train, better get started!

You can do it! Sounds like your determined plus it's always good to have a goal "out there" to keep you motivated. You can go online and get a training plan for that distance if that will help.

WOOT! You can totally do it. I am working on getting ready for my first half marathon, so maybe we can encourage each other!

how long of a distance have you done?
i have only walked a 5k 2 years ago, not run it.  used to run in h.s. but that was 20 years ago.  starting a couch to 5k program now and then going to move it to a 5k to 10k program.

I do 4 miles three days a week, I would say I run a little more then half that at this point (walk the rest at a pretty quick pace, I finish the 4 miles in less then an hour). I am closing in on week 6 of the C25K program, I love it!

You can do it! I just finished one and I love love it! There is an app you can get for your iphone/ipod called the couch to the 5 k or the bridge to the 10k.  maybe you can get it for other phones too?  But it really is easy and you will have plenty of time to train! good luck, keep us posted

I'm doing my first 5K tomorrow! I'm actually only doing it because I wanted one of the cool t-shirts they had made for the people who did the race on Christmas day. They give the leftovers to people who complete on the treadmill or elliptical in the gym! lol
