I don't have many issues with food, but when I do, it's go big or go home. Two thin slices of salami for lunch and I am a sliming, uncomfortable mess.

No need to reply, I just need to ***** for a minute LOL

Just wondering if this is your first time eating Salami since being sleeved...Hope you feel better quickly!

It is my first time, I don't normally buy it b/c I am the only one in the house who likes it and it ends up going bad, but I ordered a cold cut tray for Christmas and it was on there so I weighed out two ounces (my usual amount for lunch cold cuts) and didn't even get half way though the first half ounce before I started to feel like crap.

Are you sure it is the salami?  This far out I would think it is more likely that you ate the salami quickly and didn't chew it well and it got stuck in the curve of your stomach. I hope it goes away soon, I hate foamies with a passion.  The first time I got them, I thought I was dying and called my surgeon in a panic.

Yeah, pretty sure it's the salami. I chew like a crazy person (it was chew or die with the Band LOL), and was taking it super slow. I weighed it out and only got though the first two slices before I knew there was going to be an issue. It's pretty much passed already, my nose is still running a bit, but the pressure and foam has subsided.

One thing that MIGHT have added to it is that I have a VERY stuffy nose, and some wicked post nasal drip going on, and that does change my restriction big time (did with the band, and still does with the VSG!), so that might be the problem.

Going to drink some hot tea and take a decongestant, maybe it will help!

Wow, I haven't reacted like that to any particular food, but I guess the good news is you know now to stay away from it.  No one would ever want that horrible feeling repeated.  Glad you are better now.

I still have some issues with dysmotility of my esophagus from all the damage that my band did, so it is not unheard of for me to actually vomit without warning or have sudden issues with foods that never bothered me before. It sucks, but it is no where near as bad as it was when I first had the band removed, it gets a little better over time, but the doc warned me that I might have these issues forever (the band, the gift that keeps on giving even after you return it!).

But you are right, I don't think I will be trying salami again in the near future, I think just the smell of it will be enough to make me feel icky for a bit LOL

Yeah, I am thinking it played a big part in the issues today. Going to try some hot tea and a good decongestant to see if it helps me out any. I can't wait to get rid of the Christmas tree, since that is what is causing all the congestion!
