yuck.  coming out in handfuls as i'm in the shower this morning.  let alone when i brush/comb it.  disgusting.  i guess it's time to up my protein shakes from 1 to 2 per day.  hopefully that will help.  all vitamin lab levels are good so i don't think its that.

I have spikes!

I say this to help you realize that it WILL come back. I had very thin hair before surgery due to an adrenal condition. The hair I lost due to that never came back, so I was worried that what came out after surgery wouldn't either.

So imagine my excitement when my hair started to become impossible to style and I discovered that it was because of a bunch of little short spikes of varying lengths.

Ride it out. First will be the loss. Then spikes that make your hair style a little creative but you'll be so glad to see them you won't care!

You should consider isopure one bottle a day will give you 40 grams of protein. I get it at GNC.

I get 100 grams of protein a day, 80 of it is whey protein from shakes (chocolate, must have chocolate!!!) The cause of hair loss is the surgery and the early recovery period.

Google "telogen effluvium". That's what makes us lose hair even if we get enough protein - some folks get it worse than others, it's all in how your body reacts. It will be worse if we don't get enough protein, but getting enough protein from early on won't prevent it.

thanks, i may look into it.  my protein shakes are taken with milk so they are 28-32 g of proten per shake.  my protein requirements are only 55-69 g per day so with 2 i know i'd be in the zone.

oy vey is right on!!!  my hair is coming out in clumps as well.  Just started a few weeks ago.  I'm wondering if it's the time of year?  my hairdresser said her hair is shedding now also.

I'm lucky...i have very curly hair, so I can cammoflauge the bald spots.
