Im seriously lacking on my intake, i just dont feel comfortable drinking, if i drink the right amount i generally dont eat all day... and vice versa, but my skin is like ashy and flaking so bad, no lotion is helping,  im drained, and past thirsty to the point sometimes i gulp and it hurts... Also I notice the less i dirnk the dizzier i feel, nausea and sometime even my heart races and i get flushed...

Yes! Im right there with you. I wasnt a drinker before surgery and its so hard for me to drink especially now. My surgery was 8/8/11 and my skin is soooo dry. I havent got in more than 40 oz in a day since Ive had surgery. I think thats one reason why Im losing so slow but I feel like Im going to float when I drink all day.

Its kind of funny you posted this. i was just thinking last night, "Hmm, maybe I could just go get some iv fluids every day". I know its not possible but it was still a thought. I was always a water drinker and could down a bottle of water in no time. Now it seems like it talkes forever to finish a bottle. I wake up in the morning very thirsty. I usually get my intake but its a constant battle!
You might be dehydrated, bases on the symptoms you stated. It might be a good idea to go get checked out, better safe than sorry!

I feel s lucky . I have no problem drinking . I love plain water and was worried I wouldn't be able to drink it after surgery.
I drink some when I get up then after breakfast once 45-60 min. passes I drink 20oz. and the same after lunch and dinner and snack and keep doing that until before bed. Much less before bed as I don't want to be up all night.
Sorry getting fluids in is hard for everyone.

Do you *want* to get your quota of food and liquids in every day? Personally,I can find all KIIINDS of time to do the things I *want* to do. the things I *DON"T* want to do? Not so much.

Sometimes, like so many things,it is a head game. I also am lucky in that I can get in over 120 oz a day. I know I am almost 2 years out, also, but when I was 3 months out I was getting in 90 oz a day plus all my protein intake, because I *wanted* to .

Vacuuming??? Nah,I *CAN"T* seem to find the time to do that,KWIM

Preach it sista!

Completely agree.

I'm not trying to knock anyone who struggles with fluid intake. It's not an easy thing. I start at 6 am (the moment I get up) and drin****il I go to bed. I'm almost 3 mos out and I get in at least 80 oz - usually more. I tend to drink caffeine free mint tea (cold mostly, but sometimes hot or warm) because it tastes the best in the morning and at night. I take a water bottle filled with my tea upstairs when I go to bed so it will be ready for me when I wake up.

I never feel like eating, never feel hungry. I just look at eating like I look at drinking water/fluids. It needs to be done so I do it.

It's work - that's for sure.

I have found getting in fluids and eating to be dificult also.

I finally have a system that works for me...I focus either part of day on drinking drinking drinking or on eating...So if I'm real thirsty when I wake up, I will drink protein shakes, coffee, green tea, gatorade, soup, etc for the whole day....and then later at night make up solid foods with no fluids. Or vice versa, some days, I'm eating all solids during the daytime, then drinking all fluids in the evening.

No matter what, I always have a big thermos bottle of water or gatorade on my bedside table, and I do sip it throughout the night...I know it is not the best thing to do, but I'm a light sleeper and frequently wake up anyway...I do go to the bathroom a couple of times through the night or early morning, but I don't find that it hurts my overall sleep that much since I've never been a great sleeper anyway.

Also add some good fats if you aren't yet....I eat a lot of nuts, olive oil, peanut butter, hemp seed, etc. and my skin is hydrated and soft.

Wow you're pretty far out to still be suffering from difficult fluid intake.  Seems like this is going to be your lot so i guess you'll have to find a way to satisfy your needs.  Don't know what it is but it's important enough for you to start looking for things that work.  You'll have to be one of those mindful drinkers. Find a way. It's too important not to. Good luck
