During liquid Post Op, it was hard for me to tell my stomach was smaller. I could drink quite a bit of broth! I was worried this surgery wasn't going to work.....I know dumb thinking, but let me tell you.....it all changes FAST when you start eating.

I am just puzzled. I can eat 1/3 cup in the evenings of chicken salad....then today at lunch, I can't even get 1/4 cup down and I am now hurting!  I am having a hard time telling I'm full. Everytime after I eat, it feels like it just stacks up my esophogus. Anyone else had this after surgery?

At your time out, I'd recommend you measure out 1 - 1 1/2 oz of food.  Eat it very slowly.  Stop the minute you start feeling full.  Don't try to reach "full" - just measure and eat slowly.

I did that at first also, then my Dr told me to 1. Measure my food, 2. Put my fork/spoon down in between bites, 3. Take at least 2 minutes in between bites of food.  Since I started doing this, I haven't "overeaten" and I notice that I start to feel full about half way through whatever it is that I am eating.  Takes about 30 minutes to eat each meal, but it works for me.

Good luck!

2 minutes.....I'm going to try that. Mine had told me to wait in between bites also but I had no idea they meant that long. I felt like I wasn't doing it right when I take a real long time in btwn bites, but I am definitely going to try this.
thanks!!!

I'm at about the same point and I average something like 2-3 tbsp. a meal of denser foods like refried beans, soft chicken, or cottage cheese.  I made some homemade black bean soup to add some carbs after having some symptoms which my GP diagnosed as stemming from low blood sugar (47 when tested and that wasn't when I was feeling bad).  I can eat around a cup of that but it is practically a liquid. I've been making myself drink a protein drink for one meal and then eating food for the other two and having one small snack (Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedge).
