Sugar Alcohol

A friend of mine had her sleeve done on Monday. When I went to see her she didn't seem to be drinking enough water. All she wanted to do was sleep. That is understandable.  To him with liquids I went to the store and got her some sugar free popsicles.  I saw where many people recommended sugar free popsicles.  The box said they were sugar free but the label read they has 2 grams of sugar alcohol in each pop.  Can this cause any problems?

In large quantities, sugar alcohols act as laxatives.  Also in large quantities, they will act mildly like sugars and cause insulin spikes.  In moderation, however, they're typically fine.

Thank you for your answer.  I feel much better about giving her the popsicles.

Sugar alcohols give me horrendous, painful gas. Like Ruggie said moderation is fine.  I ate about 10 grams worth of SF candy at once and thought I was going to explode!  I watch out for those alcohols diligently now.
