Is a PPI needed?

i took it right after surgery but then had a hard time continuing to take it (supposed to open up a capsule and eat in 1 teaspoon full of yogurt 2x daily).  i have texture issues and would choke on the little beads no matter how much liquid i took it with.  i haven't really taken it since a month out of surgery.  is this dangerous?  i see my surgeon in march and will check with him then, i am almost 4 months out now.  not really feeling like i need it but wanted to know who here is on one and who isn't and if there were problems.

thanks!

I took it the first month. When I went to my PCP for my 1 month check up she told me I could stop as I have no acid problems.

I take Prontonix......20mg twice a day.  Easy as all get out to take....the pill is about the size of a grain of rice.  It has made a difference for me.....10 days out.

Only needed if you feel you have problems with acid.  I didn't start taking one until about 2 months after surgery when I developed acid problems.  My acid issues come and go so I take a PPI everyday still just to prevent it from coming back.
