100-120 calorie protein options that you can chew- besides meat and cheese

 Hi,

Do you have a suggestion for a protein choice that is under 120 calories, that  you can chew, and is not meat or cheese?  Protein grams at 9 or higher ideally.  Thanks :)

Cut back to 1/2 or 2/3s of a serving and you're well within the calorie range that you want.  They have some carbs, but also fiber and protein.  I'm usually able to find dry roasted edamame in my local store that has slightly better stats on carbs and protein.

There are protein bars, but typically they are higher than 100-120 calories unless you break them in half.  They aren't as low in carbs as some folks like either (like me).

Maybe check out Eggface's blog since she's always got creative ideas (google the World According to Eggface).

I like eggs in a variety of ways, hard boiled, scrambled, egg salad, etc.

And lastly, www.bariatricchoice.com has a lot of protein foods available.  Not sure if you'll get the protein count for the calories you want, but worth exploring I would guess.

Good luck!

I made some of her (world according to eggface) breakfast bites and pizza bites this weekend. They were very good! Three of them are roughly 120 calories, 10 grams of protein and less than 1 carb. They are like little baby quiches without the crust. Nice to have something different! They were tasty and easy to make.

I'm a morning star, bocca person.  I find it goes down easier than meat and its suprisingly high in protein.  I'll have the morning star breakfast links, or maple sausage on the weekends, the maple sausage is yummy!  I know the links are 2 at 10 grams of protein and 80 calories, i usually can just do 1 with an egg and a little cheese.  I also like the veggie meatballs, too.

I very much appreciate the suggestions- it totally worked.  My daughter needed me to go to the grocery store for her, and I am too hungry to go in without a plan :)  I only had the 120 calores left in the budget and needed the protein.  Your suggestions were perfect- overeating situtaion avoided :)

Half a Quest bar (Quest.com). They have quite a few carbs but the overwhelming majority of the carbs are fiber. I eat half a bar each day in place of the fiber supplement I used to take to keep me regular and as a result my carbs haven't gone up much.

10 grams of protein and 80 - 110 calories (depending on flavor) in half a bar.

Plain almonds.  Crunchy and satisfying. Don"t have nutritional info handy but 1 oz is about 12 medium sized almonds.
