Wendys chili, what else? Need ideas for eating "out"!

For fast food, inn addition to Wendy's, you can order a Whopper Jr. with Cheese Low Carb at Burger King...at least ours offers it. It isn't on the menu but our BK told me most of their burgers have a low carb option on request. Ran into a BK supervisor recently and she told me that they have a lot of new items coming soon and will feature more Low Carb or No Carb options. I rarely eat fast food but am looking forward to seeing what they will be offering.
Also, Chik-Fil-A just introduced a kids meal that features grilled nuggets! Can't get much healthier than that and the protein is hefty (can't remember off-hand how much the article said). I haven't tried them but was impressed with the option. And, being a kids meal, portions would not be overwhelming.
You cam still have steak at Texas Roadhouse, just team it up with healthier options such as steamed veggies. Most restaurants that put sauce on things or cook with sauce, will skip that sauce upon request. Enjoy!
When eatiing out, I usually stick to steamed seafood (lobster, shrimp or scallops) or a broiled steak. A full meal feeds me for 2 or 3 additional meals. An appetizer can often feed me for two meals depending on it's size. Love the leftovers as it makes it easy to plan my meals for the week since I am usually alone. We are empty nesters and my husband works out of state so is home only on weekends. It isn't fun to cook for myself so leftovers are perfect. :)
For semi-fast food, Chipotle is my staple. I order a steak bowl, either with or without rice, with black beans, pico, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. I get two meals out of it and then throw the rest away. I also go to Paradise Bakery (like Panera Bread) and get half a sandwich (toss the bread) and maybe some soup or a fruit salad.
At other restaurants, I can usually find something that is good and will work. If I went to Texas Roadhouse, I'd order a small steak with veggies on the side, maybe a bite of baked potato.
A bite or two of anything isn't going to kill you, as long as you're not having "a bite or two" at every meal. If you eat out rarely, I'd say it's okay to splurge a bit. If you eat out every day or every meal, I'd toe the line.
Obviously, I'm not a carb counter, so these choices might not work for everyone.
