protein shakes

My favorite was the tropical punch.  My liquid diet has lasted 41 days because my surgeon is worried I may have a leak (which I don't, he is obsessing over my amylase levels despite 7 other tests that came up negative).  I've been able to stay with the TP Isopure throughout, and have not gotten tired of it (much).

I would NOT refrigerate post-surgery.  Your sleeve will be sensitive to cold for awhile :-).

BigDaddyD -

I did the same thing - I started out on Isopure because the idea of something milky, chocolate or creamy just turned my tiny stomach.

And, then I discovered Cytomax Pure Protein drinks (also pre-mixed) and love them, too!  I alternate between the two now - - even at almost six-months post-op.

I think the Grape Frost was my favorite Isopure flavor - and the Tangerine is my favorite Cytomax (it kind of reminds me of drinking Tang when I was little!)  The Tropical Punch Cytomax is also good - - but it is seriously Incredible Hulk neon green...and that skeeves some people out.

For those who do try them - you might find them a bit sweet - - I usually dilute it.  Half water, half Isopure or Cytomax.  That way, I am pushing even more fluids!

(Of course, I actually like shakes now, too -- I mix my own Whey protein "Faux Frappuchino" every morning - -and it tastes so much like the real thing that I don't even miss Starbucks any longer!)

Where can you get these? DO they have to be ordered or do you know of any stores that carry them?

I have found that Bolthouse and Naked Juices have a protein "smoothie" drink with 16 gm of protein per 8 ounces.   They are really good!   Really creamy and full of fruit servings too!

Do those have a lot of sugar in them?

I am 1 week post op and having the same trouble.  I can't keep any of the Nectar or Isopure down. BUT...today I tried J Robb egg white (strawberry flavor) and LOVE it!!  I cleared it through my NUT. There is no horrible smell or taste. I even blended it with ice to make a smoothy. Very good!!

See, this is what I find so annoying about protein shakes. EVERYONE has a different take on every kind of flavor. I am currently suing the Jay Robb vanilla protein and I have tried other flavors of his and I think they are awful!!! grrrrrrrr....

Are you using J Robb Whey or egg white? I can't do the whey.

Oh, I didn't catch the egg white part the first time around. Is there really big difference in taste? If so, I will have to order a sample of one!
