I was still on liquids at 2 weeks out, so perhaps the beef was too much on a healing stomach. Here is a link to some ideas for pureed foods that may be easier to digest, and still provide some change from the protein shake routine!

I too agree with some of the others...two weeks out and eating beef - WOW. All the plans I've seen you should still be on liquids, maybe if you pu**** - mushies but diffenately NOT beef.
I might suggest get up move around (nothing too strenuous) get busy. Some of your hunger is you are bored. Find something to keep your mind off food.

I had a lot of shoulder pain as well for about the first month. Dr. said is was displaced pain coming from somewhere else. Can't exactly remember but it was weird and hurt alot. At 2 weeks out you should still be on a liquid diet and then progress to soft foods. Beef strogonoff doesn't sound right at only 2 weeks. I think that the hungar is acid and you should be on something for that as well. Drink the protein shakes even if you don't want them and just get through the next few weeks and you should feel better. You will only hurt yourself if you eat too much before you have healed.

My suggestion is to stick to the eating plan that your doctor gave you... The plan should tell you what and how much to eat... I wasn't eating beef for several weeks after my surgery....

I am two weeks out too. I bought these disposable 2 oz. cups with lids at Walmart. I don't eat anything that isn't in a cup to make sure I don't eat too. Eating too much causes pain. The cups cost $3 for 50. Right now I just ate dinner and I still feel hungry so I am waiting to have a special k protein water in 30 minutes.
Try some different protein drinks. Some like isopure are really light on the tummy--more like water. Protein is more filling.
When I get hungry but I know I can't eat because I ate an hour ago, I drink broth and take a walk. If I am still hungry, I can eat one of my 2oz. Cups.
I find it hard in the evenings because I feel so hungry. But I try to find something I enjoy doing because if I eat more than my 2 oz. I will get sick.
