Thank you so much for that awesome post! I am so inspired by your words that you shared.
You look great and I know you must be proud! You should be!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for posting this!!! I read every word! This is the post I needed to see last June when I began my journey!! I LOVE what you said in the "Why it is tough" section!! Some of that isn't even on my radar yet so to get the "inside scoop" is awesome. Never thought about the fact that the daily compliments will eventually wear off.
It's GREAT to see what 160 lbs looks like as it's also my goal weight!! Thanks for inspiring us today, you look FANTASTIC!

Wow!!! You look absolutely amazing! Thank you so much for letting us know about your journey. I am considering vsg and I am very interested in the mental aspect of it all. You say that the sleeve makes the 1000-1200 caloric intake more doable. That's what I wonder because--right now--that seems pretty tough to maintain. Do you track your food? I would find it so liberating not to have to do that all of the time. But is that a possibility after vsg? Does one always have to track?
I guess what I"m wondering for myself is--will having this make me feel like I'm always dieting or will it be just the "kick in the pants" that I need to get my eating on track?
Thank you so much for sharing!

Hi Pam,
I track for a week at a time every few weeks now, or for longer or more frequently if I feel that I could use the feedback that tracking provides. I actually use it as a planner as much as a tracker - I enter in my planned meals and snacks the day before, tweak as necessary and then pack my lunch etc the night before. This is pretty useful for me, since I plan my menus anyway, it just provides me with more information when making decisions - and doesn't really seem that onerous.
For me the planning is key - if I don't have a plan I tend to make poorer choices, so the tracking tools are really helpful here.

Thanks for sharing your story and especially what you've learned. I had not thought about not having the constant reinforcement of the scale going down, people's compliments, etc.... Something to really be aware of.
You have done such a fantastic job with your sleeve and your insights and sharing your view of the VSG journey is so helpful and soothing to the worries.
That's one of the things I love about OH - there is always someone ahead of me willing to share what's on the road ahead.
Thanks a lot!

Yes! You brought up the sadness I was feeling about not eating "normally", but i was reluctant to voice it because i did not want to sound ungrateful. But it's true, there is some sadness associated with the eating. Part of it might be that it is no longer a refuge and can't be treated as such. The other is that for so many years we ate a certain way and now, everything is abbreviated!
I am so glad you posted. You did and are doing such a good job, and you look amazing, so healthy and fit. You are an inspiration to me and have given me good information about going forward.
Thanks!
