Coming off of carbs and getting headaches

PS - my mom used to get headaches the first couple days of a diet, come to think about it. Her doctor thought it was because she wasn't drinking enough as well as introducing a new, drastic diet to her body. So, make sure you get plenty of water!

Hmm... maybe this is the culprit.  I will experiment with this tomorrow and see how I do.  Thanks again! :)

It's interesting- I've had chronic migraines (very bad, hospitalized multiple times) for about 5 years and reallllllly worried about how it would go on my two week pre-op liquids only. it's now almost 3 weeks since that pre-op and 6 days since surgery- I have not had one single headache of any type.
During the 2 wk pre-op, I drank 120oz of pure water a day. I always had a Premier 30gr protein shake immediately in the AM, followed by another at lunch and 98% FF soup for dinner. I also drank about 12-16oz of milk a day. Keeping full of water and having protein immediately upon waking really helped me. I was also a diet coke drinker and alcohol drinker so I gave up a lot of vices.
I was super worried about how I'd make it after surgery with the cravings, hunger, etc. As I mentioned I'm very newly sleeved but I'll tell ya- it's a struggle to just get in 60oz of water every day along with 2 glasses of milk enriched with protein.
The first 3-4 days of pre-op are the hardest so just push through it. If you get a headache, have a protein shake asap and seriously, drink a sh*t ton of water! :)
I'm so excited for you to join the loser's bench!! I agree- you're doing everything you need to do to prepare ahead of time and you're going to be a rock star chica!

Thanks so much! I can't wait to join you guys! Great idea about keeping extra protein shakes on hand to help with headaches. And oh yes, I will definitely start drinking more water immediately. No time like the present to get in the habit!
