EXCITING!I know what you mean. Time felt like it was chugging uphill for all those months of supervised diet, etc. & then boom, approved, date, liquid diet, done! Bamm! I started getting anxious about the actual 'surgery' aspect (i.e. not waking up to come home to my babies who need me) in that 2-wk timeframe before the surgery date. It wasn't constant or all-consuming, but it was definately on my heart that I was choosing to have an elective procedure done for my health, but other outcomes (the bad ones) were also possible. I had to do a 6-mo doctor supervised diet (which really just consisted of documenting what I was doing to loose weight (calories/day, low fat, eliminating pop, etc.), my exercise regimen, etc. I finished all my insurance requirements in mid-December & got a letter of approval almost exactly 1 month later. I'm assuming the holidays slowed mine down a little, but Cigna said they have 45 days to review any requests such as VSG.
