Hi Amber! I'm from Austin. Yay for the Texans!! lol
Thanks for offering help, at this time I'll take all the support I can get. I know all this hard work will pay off in the end but it doesn't mean that it doesn't get hard sometimes.
How have you been doing pre-op?

I haven't had to do anything pre op so far.....IDK!! :)  Except quit smoking, and that is terrible!

Hi Christine!

I'm new here and would love a friend for support and accountability.  It's great to know I'm not alone.  :)  At this point, I'm in the 5th month of the mandatory 6 month diet and have attained my pre-op weight loss goal so I'm just waiting for the 6th month appointment as a formality and then I'll be scheduled with the surgeon.  They tell me to anticipate VSG surgery in early June.  My birthday is on the 8th so I'm really hoping for an extra-special present this year....a new me.  :)

Hi Mouse Junkie!
You are most def. not alone! How has the 6 month diet been going so far?
I'm just starting I'm 2 weeks in and 11 pounds down...so I'm hoping I can keep that going.
What a great b-day present I hope that works out for you.
I'll be 30 this year and that would be an awesome gift too, but I think if I wait till Oct. I just might burst..lol
So where are you from?

Hi Again!

The diet really has been a breeze.  I only had to lose 15 lbs to be at my pre-op weight for surgery and have actually surpassed it.  I'm a junk food junkie so just cutting out that stuff has made the weight drop off.  I'm hoping to lose at least 15 more lbs before surgery.

Oh I'm from Northeast Pennsylvania.  It's a gorgeous day here and I have 2 St. Bernards so I think a nice long walk is just what I need today.  What forms of exercise do you enjoy?

Glad to hear its been a breeze!
I was a fast food and soda girl, I'm single and no kids so I was always just picking up something fast. I think cutting that out has helped with the weight loss.
Its been rainy here in Austin... I wish I could go for a walk I need it today, enjoy the weather

Hi Christine -

I am in Killeen so we are practically neighbors - I am working on the sleeve - was scheduled for the RNY but after they got in there they couldn't do it because of scarring and adhesions - talk about a let down - but they were able to refer me to the military hospital in San Antonio who can do the sleeve for me - this will be an exciting time for you - the time will seem to creep and then all of a sudden the surgery date is here - welcome....

Hi neighbor! lol
Sorry to hear about your first surgery, but I am a believer that everything happens for a reason. Glad you were able to find a hospital and surgery that will work for you.
Thanks tor the welcome

I just saw this post.  I'm from Texas also.  I am doing the 4 month supervised diet for insurance as well.  I wanted to try and lose whatever I could before surgery so that I can get to my goal that much faster.  I know I will probably lose slowly.  If all goes well I'm looking at a June surgery date.  Time seems to be dragging.... but that's okay.  I'm just glad that it's not a longer wait.  I have seen on this forum some people waiting a year or two!  I won't complain about the 4 months :)
