Is it ok to get in the majority of water in each day with Crystal Light? So many "diets" before would say 64oz of PURE water, BUT... I can't seem to choke down just pure water. What do you vet sleevers think? Thanks!!

Yes, crystal light is fine to use. It does not affect your water intake but instead of crystal light I highly recommend the new Mio liquid water enhancers.  I love all the flavors and walmart also now makes their own knockoff version that has great flavors and are about 1.00 cheaper than the Mio brand. The crystal light I found with leave a residue on the side of the bottles or powder floating around in the water. You don't have to worry about the with the Mio or walmart brand!

How strange - I found just the opposite!  I used Mio and there were these weird almost plastic type of things floating in my glass after putting the drops in.  I've never had any of that with the Crystal Light.

Hmmmmm.....

That's so funny...I was just going to post a "for all u Mio Addicts" topic to let everyone know that Walmart now has a generic Mio but with other flavors such as Cherry Limeade and lemonade!! Yay!!!

I don't use Crystal Light because of the Calories - They claim 5 calories per serving, but a serving is 1/6 of a packet (in 16 oz of water).  Multiplay that out, thats 40 calories per 16 oz, or 160 for a days worth of water.

On my 600 Calorie diet thats a meal - with no other nutritional info.

I was using Powerade Zero, but My nut mentioned she thought the sodium was too high, so I have moved to MiO flavoring.  0 Calories, 0 Sodium but still has good amounts of vitamins.  It comes in a good variety of flaors and can be added to other items than water too.

Your response made me look at the Crystal Light boxes I have here at work - Crystal Light Raspberry Ice says a servicing size is 1/2 packet, so it's really 10 calories instead of 5, and the CL Fiber (Natural Raspberry Peach) says a servicing size is 1 packet but says it is 10 calories. Maybe some of the others are as you say 1/6 packet - I'll have to check - but mine don't say that.  I'll make sure I look more carefully next time instead of just assuming they are 5 calories.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

I agree with your calories.  All the crystal light I have are 10 calories/packet.  I think he may have the larger packets that you use when making a pitcher of crystal light.

The ones I looked at we're the on the go boxes.  I am sure different flavors have different values.  The take-away is to read all of the nutrition label, not just the calorie content. I used Crystal light all the time before surgery, ESP the Herbal Green Tea with honey.  I loved that stuff.

I am glad I found the MiO.

Easy solution.....at least for me is diluting your crystal light.  I don't like the full flavor anyways.....way too sweet.

I normally use 1 packet in almost a gallon of water.  I just need "something" in it to change the Ph of the water....not really for flavor.

Works for me anyways.  The calories are negligible this way.
