My doc wouldn't let me do much of anything other than wal****il I was past 6 weeks out. Once he saw me for my six week post op and took a look see and poked and prodded a bit I was cleared.

Honestly, I wouldn't ru**** though. I'd rather you were fully healed and not risk opening an internal incision or anything. Bowling will still be there in three more weeks. And you can find other ways of spending time with your daughter. Ten to one she wouldn't turn down you taking her to the mall for some good father - daughter let's spend some money time!

 haha oh you got that right :)  I only have about 5 or so more days before I'm 6 weeks out though.

My doctor told me not to lift anything over 5lbs for 8 weeks or so.  You could get a hernia so please call your doctor first.

 I would definitely ask.  Actual results may vary depending on how you heal.  My surgeon told me no heavy lifting until 6 weeks.  I obeyed that (for the most part) and was fine.

 I spoke to the surgeon yesterday and he said it was fine for me to go bowling :)  He said usually he tells people 6 weeks before they start doing things but he said im close enough so go ahead.
