Mini budget vent

Ok... time for financial encouragement!

I'm a single Mother.. funds are TIGHT. I have saved up 1100.00, I have 300 on flex spending, and I need 1300.00  more for my max out of pocket (budgeted surgery costs suggested by surgeon's office). My surgery date goal is the week of June 8th.

Why oh why did I not put more money on flex spending this year? LOL

I THINK I can do this.. I have budgeted myself to the penny. I have clipped every coupon, and gearing up for triple coupons next week to stock up LOL. I have signed up for extra shifts at a bar tha I work at a few times a month, and have kissed my social life goodbye because of it.

Every time I have something come up.. its hard for me to remember that this is going towards my max out of pocket. So I freak out.

I CAN DO THIS! Right? :(

I'm like the little piggy bank choo choo... I think I can! I think I can! Choo Choo!

Question though.. do any of the bills come AFTER surgery?

I was sefl pay and received 2 or 3 bills after surgery. The largest of these was a few thousand dollar bill for the anesthesiologist. Was not expecting it and it kinda ticked me off. Was under the impression the 17,000 dollar quote from the surgeon was the entire package... in total I've spent about $24,000.

hey girl...I feel ya. I am always working hard just to stay afloat. One piece of advice is to find a couponing website that is local to you. They will have matchups to do with your coupons. I am an avid couponer and by doing this my grocery bill is less than $200 a month for my family. I get majority of our groceries for free. Good luck!

I'm with ya... Southern Savers is my site of choice. I had to clean out one of my closets downstairs and put up two storage shelves LOL. I'm a bit addicted to the whole thing.

If you do get bills afterwards, you can work out payment plans later. I dunno, that's kind of how I viewed. I was totally cash pay though, so I had to finance mine through CareCredit (less what I paid in actual cash). You got this.

I, too, am a single mother and a self payer.  I really considered going to Mexico because of the cost $8700.  However, I was referred to Coastal Metabolic and Biatrics in SC.  The all inclusive cost is $8000.  Dr. Washington has an excellent record.  I plan on paying $4k in cash and finance the other.  I called and checked around and found other charged $15 to $25K.  Maybe you should check around.

I was able to put more on flex spending, which helped a lot.  But the hospital portion of my bill came after surgery (just came today, actually, and surgery was 1/23).  Anesthesia's bill also came after.  The only thing I had to pay up front was surgeon fee's and my deductible.  All the testing I had done prior to surgery was in November, so my deductibe was met then, but wouldn't you know, we don't have "fourth quarter carry-over" so I had to pay the deductible all over again.

You can do it!!
