Ok, so we all had VSG. Mine was done on Cyber Monday & I am feeling Great except for today!

I am down 48lbs & down 4 pants sizes & 3 shirt sizes! YAY

But this mornning I woke up with a stabbing/pinching pain where I had had one of my internal Stitches. It hasn't bothered me in about 2-3 months!

So my question is...Has anyone else gone through this? Does anyone have any idea why> I have a call into the Surgeon but I thought I would turn to you guys to see if anyone else has had the same issue!

Hubby said he thinks it is gas...He may be right but, Not banking on GAS! I just hope it is nothing major! Thanks guys!

I don't have an answer, but I hope you feel better soon. Let us know what the surgeon say...

Yea I would worry about a staple popping but looking at your weight loss I doubt that your overfilling your sleeve popping staples and they probably rarely break, its probably totally unrelated like but better to be safe then sorry...  Good Luck

Your staple lines are usually healed within 2-3 weeks so if it was your pouch, you would know long before now.  You may have what they call a "port site herniation" or basically a hernia where the trocar was placed.  Sometimes tissue gets stuck to the area or gets pushed into the port site and causes pain.  Most of the time, it will resolve itself.  If it is upper right quadrant (under ribs on right side) and you experience fever, vomitting or nasuea, it may be your gall bladder and you should head to the ER.

TY! I never had a port so I doubt that was it. This is more the lower left just to the side of the belly button. I just think it is growing pains, or in this case shrinking pains@

If you had laparoscopic surgery you did have the holes aka port. It could be a hernia as the above poster explains or it could be scar tissue pulling. I had the scar tissue issue, it was definitely a painful pulling and some aching too but it went away in a couple hours. Sometimes I feel a pull if I twist a certain way.

Come back and let us know what your doc says. Good luck!

I haven't had surgery yet but had my gall bladder and appendix taken out lapriscopically.  One of my tiny incisions bothered me for a couple of months.  Turns out that at one of my dr's visits i told him about it and he squeezed it like a pimple.  Guess what it had a little puss in it.  And im talking like 3 months after surgery.  Never bothered me again.  BTW i live in Woodbridge... hehehe we are almost neighbors!

I'm only 2 weeks post op but the only place that is still bothering me is exactly where you described...to the left of my bellybutton...where are no incisions.  I talked to my surgeon about it too and he said that that si where they do the most internal "pulling and tugging" so it will be the most sore for a while.  I was concerned it was my stomach but he said it is much higher and more centered than my pain.  I don't know if that helps.

Also...I'm a jersey girl too but more north than you both in West Milford ; )
