Skin Fold over - Bacterial Maintenance

Elaine, I went to Walmart and bought some Monistat and some Desitin (40% zinc), I have been trying them each on different areas for two days (and nothing else)... There is some minor improvement but I will need to give it a few more days to decide.   I tried another posters treatment, isotropic alcohol, burned like hell for not much results for me, could only handle the burn for two days...   I looked at the Butt Paste another poster suggested but Desitin Paste had the same active ingredient at half the price... The Monostat came in a tiny ass tube and I could only find kits, not just the tube but if it works, I will find it and use it.... I will let you know how it works for me...

I don't have post-op folds yet, but I have the preop version.  Under my boobs I use antiperspirant to keep the post shower moisture down. Haven't done it under my tummy yet, but I've considered it!

when I get rashes a cream made of equal parts nystatin and hydrocortisone cream works well for me

Yep I tried that too, I figured I could use less of the Nystain, if i delivered it on a cream and not miss or waste any.....and I thought hydro-cortisone was an "anti itch" cream and made sense and is one I have on hand, so good call, I have done this too....

My aunt uses a cream called Bactroban for her skin, shes a diabetic...I haven't tried it yet, I think its a non-prescription item......might check that one out as a delivery agent for the nystain too....

This may sound weird but what has worked in the past for me has been to take a bandana (or two) and fold it up, then tuck it under.  I save the powders and things for later, but this trick has gotten me through some real rough days.   It absorbs the moisture and gives some relief.

Nothing works for me except Gold Bond powder in the green bottle. I have tried everything out there. And if you put in on EVERY day, it won't come back, al least that has beenmy experience. Tip from the RN at my OB/GYNs office.

It didn't work as well for me as my #3 Zeasorb-AF powder worked.  Gold Bond has 1 % zinc oxide...the Peruvian Butt paste suggestion someone in this post made, has 16% zinc oxide, so if that's what is helping LOL Butt paste may be all the rage.   I am glad you are getting relief from it, thanks for adding it to our list...

Try using Head and Shoulders Classic. After you shower, you put a bit on the affected areas and then rinse off. My hubbie has problems between his legs and while it does not take it away it stops the itch and clears it up a bit. Takes a week or so to work. By the way this is for fungel problems.

I use gold bond type powder in most areas but any folds that develop rashes I use diaper rash cream with zinc. For both products I purchase store brand to save a few $.

Can be candida ...take pictures prior to treatin it...(will help make your case for insurance covered plastics)
Sorry didn't note how far out you are, but candida is often from post op antibiotics and not replenishin w/ PROBIOTICs consuming too many acid forming foods (meats) and artificial sweeteners. Look up Doc Hollywood here...she's terrific at troubleshooting candida issues. Ive used Candida Cleanse..its great too! Pau de Arco!

External candida...effective for me:
Clortrimazole vaginal cream ..from like a Walgreens a few bucks.... bigger tube more bang for yer buck than clortrimazole in athletes foot section (a tiny tube) same thing but way cheaper...if ya got this now you'll have more episodes in the future
Clean n pat dry...apply CLORTRIMAZOLE
apply liberally if super irritated gone in a couplea days.

Prevention inc.  clean, pat dry...apply deodorant then zinc oxide
n let yerself air out every now n again like I do! lmao
