So when am I supposed to drink?
So here is my eating schedule:
7am protein drink
9:30 snack (yogurt or an egg)
12 pm Lunch
3pm snack
6pm dinner
9pm bed
So if I'm not supposed to drink for an hour after and a half hour before how the hell am I supposed to get that much water in? I can't guzzle it, I'm really struggling here.

I never waited that long, heck I think my instructions were 30/30.. but eventually I realized that liquids passed right through me, so I usually stop drinking 10-15 max (if I think about it, if not- I really don't see a diff.. but I can't say it was the same early out) and resume maybe 30 mins or more depending, after.
Everyone seems to get different instructions. I was told 1/2 hr before and after. You could have some before/after your protein drink since that is liquid also. Try to keep a bottle of water always handy and start as soon as you can after your wait period is up and continue up to the start of the next period. Just keep sipping - it feels like that's all you do between meals. It might take awhile to get to the full 64 oz. It was 4-5 weeks before I got there. it gets easier as time goes by. I am about 17 months out and usually do 15-20 minutes before and 1/2 hr after. Hang in there!

Yeah I agree with others posting above. I have the 30/30 rule (no liquids 30 min before and 30 minutes after food) but this only applies to actual food and NOT protein drinks or soups etc.
Sip sip sip. I have a 50oz bottle of water with me at work and if I finish that during the work day, I try to get 16-24 ounces at home in the evening (not always easy but I try) and I'm good to go!
Good luck!

I just saw my NUT and complained about the same thing! I've been getting in just 48oz and not the 64oz I should now. My NUT and doctor say it's ok to drink up to meal time as long as I'm just sipping but still have to wait 1 hr after. That at least gave me an extra 1 1/2 hrs a day. I usually have a protein drink for an afternoon snack so I can keep in sipping after.
You're going to bed too early! You need a few more hours at the end of the day to get all your liquids in.
So, you're drinking a protein drink in the morning and the "no drinking before, during, or after" rule really doesn't apply when your meal is liquid. Start drinking when you get up; drink your protein drink (which counts as liquid), and keep drinking until a half hour before your snack. Or skip the snack and just keep drinking until lunch.
If you make another one of your meals/snacks another protein drink, it also lessens the "no drinking" restriction. Keep working on it - it WILL get better and easier.

LMAO Emelar!!!! Yea, stay up later, problem solved...seriously tho, I drink right up to my.meals cuz the food will push the liquid out, but I do wait 30 minutes after eating to resume. Im supposed to do the 30/30 too but don't see the point in the before part...good luck in getting those fluids in & keep trying...
