Hungry?

Well, think of it in terms of hormones.  You know how powerful hormones are over us.  Same thing applies.

I'd say my hunger is reduced 90%.  So, I still have hunger - but not the insane, crippling 'eat eat eat' hunger I used to have.

And remember, you'll probably start out on 500 calories - and it'll be good.

It was much easier for me to eat 600 calories a day post-VSG than 1,500 per day before surgery.

I'm less than 2 weeks out so I can't say this will last, but I have felt no hunger at all since the surgery.  I need to remind myself to eat and sometimes force it because I have no interest in what I'm allowed to have.  That could just be because I'm still only on liquids, so not sure how this will turn out...

When I first got out of surgery, I was never hungry.  Lately, at about 5.5 months out, I do get physically hungry sometimes.  Its usually only if I eat something really light and creamy like yogurt for a meal.  IF I eat a dense protein like Chicken breast I won't be hungry at all.

We also have to be careful about differentiating real physical hunger from head hunger.
