Surgery on Friday and I am sick!!

 So my surgery is on Friday at 730 am. I did all my final pre op stuff today and I am sick as a dog! I don't have a fever as of yet but instead of getting better the last few days have gotten worse. They basically told me if I am not better by Thurs we will have to reschedule. I am so bummed and freaking out because I would have to change my vaca and my husbands vaca plus my mother in law is flying in to help me with the kids next week so I can recover. I'm really worried that I wont be better in time and I need some positive thoughts sent my way. 

One more thing I am a smoker and today they scared the hell out of me with all the Pneumonia talk because of smoking. I am really nervous at this point. Just don't know what to do. Wish they would have scared me a little a few weeks ago rather then 2 days out so I could have had a chance to quit. 

Feeling very poor pitiful me right now....

 So they didnt make you quit smoking before surgery? With my surgeon if you are a smoker they require you to be nicotein free for 4-6 months before surgery I believe. 

 It never really came up. I always filled out the docs saying I was a smoker and the cardiologist asked me when I was going to stop I told him I didn't really know but planed to stop eating and smoking at the same time, he laughed. Same with the pulmonary doc when I had that clearance. We all know I should have stopped a long time ago...

Sending positive vibes your way and ((((hugs)))).  Have you tried giving your body a little vitamin C boost to shake your cold?  Are you sure it's not allergies?  I pray things work out for you.  Are you scheduled for surgery at Northside, Atlanta?

 Thank you for the hugs. I am having it at Johns Creek. They told me today no vitamins not even a mu ti just rest and fluids. They did say I could take NyQuil the next 2 days so I am going to do that. Plus they took blood today to see if its an infection or just allergies. I am really hoping that its allergies because I'm sure you have noticed everything in ATL has been yellow the last few weeks :)

Aww I hope you feel better soon! Get lots of rest and try to relax and hopefully it's just allergies.

 Thanks Christine! I actually woke up feeling much better today but my voice is still scratchy so hopefully it is just allergies!
