Snacking

Just wanted to share what giving up snacking has done for me...

I started at 268 lbs and lost about 85 lbs the first six months after surgery, but this last month I seemed to be hovering around 184, no longer losing. Was it just a normal plateau, or were my eating habits becoming sloppy? I realized I was snacking on nuts & seeds a lot at the office.

So, two weeks ago I cut out nearly all the snacks. No more eating anything between meals unless I was truly hungry, then just a couple bites. And guess what? I've lost 11 more lbs in those two weeks. I'm now 173.

Only five more lbs to the Century Club, and 13 more to goal!

Nice!  Great information.  I eat quite a few dry roasted peanuts and cashews myself.

I always keep almonds, pumpkin seeds, and beef jerky at my desk in case I get hungry during the day. Maybe it's the salt that was hurting my weight loss, but most likely it was just the grazing.
