Finished my first 5k race today!

I had the same experience in my 5k. I started off way too fast and about half way through wanted to stop and walk. However, I pushed though that and kept running. I was able to finish with a time of 26.26 and come in fourth place in my age group. Not bad for my first 5k I think. I simply just did it to see if I could do it, but my wife told me later that next time I better be in it to win it. LOL.
Well good luck in your upcoming races, it sounds like you are hooked on them now. Remember to ware lots of sunscreen and a hat if possible.

WOW, that is a fantastic time! You rocked that race, good for you!

As for the sunscreen, I am usually a stickler for it, my whole body was covered except for my face b/c I usually put a moisturizer with sun screen on every morning so I don't have to think about, but didn't b/c I was afraid it was going to run into my eyes and blind me and then out of habit I didn't put the sunscreen on my face when I was applying it everywhere else. Believe me, after today and not being able to wrinkle my forehead without wanting to cry, I won't make that mistake again

WTG!

I am starting my training for a half marathon in September.

I am glad you got a good pair of shoes as I too have issues with my feet/ankles rolling outward.

I am working my way towards a half, right now I can get about 4 miles before I honestly have to stop and not run anymore. So I figure I will work my way up to a 10k, and then go from there!
