I honestly don't pay a lot of attention to calories burned.  I'm not sure why, but I've never trusted that information.  Maybe because I don't like seeing how low the numbers are?

I'm more interested in distance, numbers of steps, time spent doing it.

MFP only counts calories burned from exercise and not BMR calorie burn so that is why you see the difference. :)

I've been going back and forth on whether I want this or a good HRM with calorie counter.  I'm not sure if I want/need the whole day thing or just for when I exercise.  I like how small it is but it can't take into account how hard you are working (through sweat or HR) so sometimes I wonder how accurate it can be.

I don't know what HRM is.  I just jumped in when I saw this described a few days ago.  I really do like it, though.

I love my FitBit Ultra as well.

No worries about charging it every night. Just throw it on the charger once every 2-3 days for a couple of hours while your doing dinner or watching a tv show... Have fun with it!!

I walked over 3 miles today, which believe me, I haven't done in a long time. Knowing I was clicking up the steps motivated me.  My dog was happy!

Do I have to tell it that I'm going to sleep or does it know autmoatically?

Fit bit and the HRM are totally different... Both have there jobs they do.. fitbit for the everyday movement . HRM for the exercise at the gym or out walking or running, tape etc.....If you accurate counts for planned exercise it would be the HRM..Polar is awesome!!
