home again

My 13 yr. old and I got home from the Heritage Tour last night.  I had a ball, though it was exhausting, and Iwas ready to sleep in my own bed.  I am sooo glad I planned ahead and had supplies, as the first 4 mornings' breakfasts were not what I eat, so I ate what I'd brought.  Ditto for the lunches.  Most of the time dinner was fine.  We must have walked 20 or more miles this week, through DC, Gettysburg, Philly, and NYC.  Thanks to my sleeve, I kept up.  I never would have made it a year ago.  I did snack a bit, which I usually don't, but had nuts or a protein bar.  I know I ate more calories than normal, but most days I was walking several miles, so the extra calories were offset somewhat.  I managed to lose about 1/2 lb., but I'm still retaining a little fluid from the trip home - all of those hours on a bus.  Today was back to my normal routine.

What a wonderful success story!

I know that when I'm on vacation and walking a lot, I somehow manage to lose weight even though I know I'm eating fattening things.  Unaccustomed exercise must help. Good luck with the scale!

[I'm not gaining weight. I keep lowering my goal!] [I LOVE MY SLEEVE!]
