did insurance cover it? I hope I am not rude by asking what the body lift cost you

Hi.  No, unfortunately insurance did not cover it.  I would rather not say exactly what I paid but I will say this doctor is at the top end of the scale in terms of cost but I did my research and I felt he was worth every penny.

You give me some hope!  I am 179lbs, 5'6" and my HW was 315lbs...

HOWEVER, my before tummy is a total DISASTER... I have PCOS and carried (still do, even in a Medium shirt) MUCH/MOST of my weight right in my tummy... my upper "spare tire" is almost tripple the size of my pannus :-(

I'm gonna meet with a plastic surgeon this Summer, but I'm leaning towards another year or two before I really go through with it... I HOPE to loose another 20-30lbs, but the real reason is that I also hope to have a baby or two... and I don't want to mess that new tummy up!  (I'm 31...)

Thank you SO MUCH for posting!!!

Hi.  I also have severe PCOS which is the reason I believe I was a slow loser.  I went in for my consult at 177 and asked how much more weight I should lose, his question to me was how much weight have you lost recently, I told him its a struggle to lose anything at this point, so he said to me, your ready right now then, that and the fact I was 16 months out.

I had some extra weight at the top of my stomach and asked how he would deal with that portion, he response was lipo and it worked great.

Since your planning to have babies, yes of course you should wait and when your done with the babies, go for it.  You wont regret it.

Your Welcome!  Good luck with your plastics when you get to that point.  One of the best decisions I ever made besides having my VSG.
