Food logs?

I understand that myfitnesspal.com is an electronic way to track food, calories etc...; however, what I dont understand is why you would "add" someone...  I'm not a member of the website so I don't know.  Please explain the website to me so that maybe i will join and want to be "added".. It seems to be the thing to do..

Hi there,

MFP is great and it's motivating to have "friends" on there who support you.  Friends can post comments to you losing weight, completing your food dairy while staying under your calorie goal, etc.  You can also post comments and see your friends progress as well.  It can be very encouraging for friends to post comments to support you in your weight loss journey.  MFP kinda works like this forum but on a smaller scale: you can only see your "friends" progress/posts only, not everyone like you can on the PO boards.
