Hello everyone! This is my first post!! Yay me!! I have gotten so much information from this site and am so grateful to all who are so honest with their journeys. My question is my do does his sleeves with the da Vinci robotic 3D machine. Has anyone heard of it and have you had it done with this? Results?
Thanks!!  Cindy

yes, Dr. Sudan at Duke uses the DaVinci for the DS and sleeve - that is what he used on me.

I am a nurse. I haven't had my sleeve yet, still jumping through insurance hoops. I cannot speak about the davinci as far as with the sleeve, but all the other procedures that are being done with the davinci, have only had great results. It's better with recovery since there is less manipulation and quite precise. Don't sweat it if your surgeon is using this, only good thoughts heard with it.

Wow that's cool!  Di Vinici is an awesome machine!  They do hysterectomies with it where I live and it seems like it's going great for patients.

At the hospital where I work the docs use the Di Vinci for urology surgeries.

I had mine done with the DaVinci and though I don't really know about the machine itself I trusted my surgeon to know what he was doing with it:) LOL. I am 13 days out and doing fine:) getting ready to get my mushie on tomorrow!!!

Hi, and welcome! I was sleeved this past Valentines Day and my surgeon used the da Vinci robot-prior to surgery he mentioned that he would use it if it were available, and since I was the first surgery of the day it was available. One of the benefits my surgeon explained was often less post op pain, and this was definitely my experience- I can honestly say that I experienced no pain after the surgery other than gas pain in my chest which lasted the day of surgery only. Also, I believe the incisions are slightly smaller(I couldn't even see mine immediately after surgery) and the robot cuts down on surgeon fatigue and often results in less bleeding, as per my research. I definitely had an extremely positive and pain free experience, and although everyones experience is somewhat different, I have nothing but high praise for this procedure.

Hi Cindy!
Tomorrow I will be 9 months post-op and I am down 80+ lbs.  My surgeon used the DaVinci and does most of his surgeries unless complications arise.  I have the super small incisions that can barely be seen.

Good luck.
