Time to Confess

Let’s be honest as much as we work so hard to become healthy, we all have a bad habit or two. Everyone is going through changes but to wake up one day and just stop every single one of them cold turkey sounds nearly impossible. I have a couple myself and working everyday to try and stop or change them to be healthy. I know after my surgery life is going to change and it will be even easier to stop doing them all together.
But I’m curious what bad habits do you have that your trying to quit before surgery, how are you doing and what are you doing to quit doing them?

Soda was the big one for me. And it wasn't even about the caffiene I loved the carbonation. I haven't had it in a month now and honestly do not miss it.

I quite late-night snacking. Well, at least until I got my surgery date. Then I slipped for a while (over the course of a month or so). But then the pre-op diet hit and that was the end of that. The threat of going through all that, getting to the hospital, and having the surgery canceled at the last minute was more than enough to keep me honest. At some point during those two hellish weeks, it became more important to do it for myself than for the threat of postponing surgery. Had to prove to myself that I could do it. Because now that I've had the surgery, once I heal and discover what my new normal will be for eating, there will still be the work of moderating and exercising. I managed to do it before surgery so now I know I can do it afterward too. It won't be easy, but I am worth the effort. We all are.
