I think one of the reasons everyone mentions cottage cheese is because aside from being easy on your new tummy, it also has a fair amount of protein. Just 1 cup can get you up to 15 grams of protein, depending on the brand you buy. You won't be able to finish the whole cup in one serving, but I'm sure you know that already.
Dr. Alvarez recommends trying one new food daily- to see how your body responds. Sounds like you are doing that already.
I remember that after 2 weeks in my surgery I tried oatmeal and it felt "stuck". Dr. said it was an indication that my stomach was still very swollen and I needed to stick with broth and liquid. My point is just to listen to your body- which it sounds like you are doing.

Measure by oz - no more than 1-1 1/2 oz at this point and stop the minute you're uncomfortable.
My plan went from full liquids to soft foods. Softs included cheese, yogurt, ground beef, moist chicken, tuna, and stuff like that. Treat yourself like a baby. Take one food, don't mix it with anything else, try it and see if you can tolerate it. Then move to the next food.
Veggies can be hard on the tummy, but the same theory applies. Try it and see if you can tolerate it. I was so focused on getting my protein in first that veggies didn't hit my plate until several months out.
If you have trouble with anything, give your sleeve a break and put that food on the "try it again in a few weeks" list.
I didn't have a hernia repair, but I've heard from enough people that the repair can cause some extra pain/discomfort. Again, just go easy. Just because your doc said you can doesn't mean your sleeve is going to agree!

My written diet from the hospital is the same as yours, or similar. As for the veggies, I am getting my protein from shakes and just wanted to taste that squash. I've never had a garden before and wanted to eat something from it. My stomach seems to have handled it okay; that was several hours ago and I've had a SF popsicle and another shake since then.
But I agree about the soft foods. I'm going to take it easy. And thank you!
