and it's getting worse.  I worked out pretty darned hard this morning.  I made sure I drank 20oz of water before I even worked out and it made me sick just to do that.  Now I'm trying to drink my protein/recovery drink and it's just making me gag.  The whole mouth filling with saliva thing, just awful.  yesterday when I woke up I drank a cup of water and promptly threw it all back up.  Food does NOT cause this at all.  It's just liquids.

Any ideas at all?  I don't seem to be dehydrated, pee is fine, feeling fine other than stupid sick stomach.  And no I'm not pregnant!

Very weird, have you tried drinking your water ice cold or even room temperature, varying temps? I used to love to chug room temp smar****er, now it makes me gags and feel nauseated. I have to drink everything ice cold or I cannot stomach it. For me it's a mental thing. Good Luck, Sharon

Even at goal I can't gulp liquids without getting slimeys and hiccoughs. Try to slow down the process and see if it helps. Its no fun to feel like this. WTG on your weight loss!

sounds like you are drinking WAY to fast.  I am 4 months out and still get the naseaus feeling when I try and drink to fast.....dont try and drink anything fast, slow it down, it does take a few minutes for all the fluids to go through your new small stomach.

I get this too. Usually because I didn't space my sips out enough. I tend to get busy or distracted and often go too long between drinking. To make up for lost time, when I get the chance, I tend to take large sips and slowly let a bit go down at a time. I may do his 3 times in a row and I really pay for it. I topped up my sleeve too quickly and I instantly start foaming and have to fight it off. I will then be afraid to drink again for at least another 30 mins. It can be a viscious cycle. I never manage to get in more than 48 oz a day, no matter what I do, but definitely not dehydrated either.

Do hot drinks affect you the same?  Somebody or other recommended hot/warm drinks first thing in the morning if restriction feels too tight.

I've been getting mildly nauseated by most drinks.  Especially plain water.  Most days I have to go to a full 4-cup package of beef or chicken broth, heated, to get at least most of my liquids in.  How about sugar free jello?  Various flavors of hot tea? Popsicles!  (but you have to eat an awful lot of them to get a day's supply of liquids in.  About 27, I think?

Do you like your protein shake's taste?  If not, can you do without it and get all your protein in?  I've given mine up for beef broth, for a while, since I can't stomach it right now.

Hope this helped.

Drinking warm has helped!!  Cold wasn't doing it and room temp made it worse but I'm currently drinking a coffee with no ill effects!  I really didn't feel I was drinking too fast and it didn't seem to matter whether I gulped or sipped the nausea was there.  But this morning with the warm coffee life is MUCH better.

I do wonder where this came from.  I'm 8 weeks out and this is a VERY new problem, just since Saturday.  I sure hope it goes away soon because I really do not enjoy this at all.
