I've never seen this topic on here before, so here goes.

I'm on a relatively low-carb diet currently.  (I start liquids on Monday.)  Lately, I've noticed that my deodorant just isn't working very well.   I have stinky pits!

Is this a side effect of burning off old body fat and toxins?  Anyone else stinky?

Well, we are all low carbing now, but I have never noticed the pits to be any worse than usual if I forget the pit stick. Sometimes the folds of skin, can be a bit ripe, especially now that the heat has arrived, but that was a normal thing before for me. I sometimes put deodorant in the folds to help with that too. We do have horrible breath low carbing, but I would be interested also if anyone else noticed more BO than normal, as a side effect.

I have noticed this too. I would apply my deodorant in the morning and reapply in the afternoon because I was smelly.
I changed deodorants several times and finally I think found one that works better for me. I have also noticed that I sweat more too now that I have lost weight. I use to turn red and overheat before I would ever sweat so I think that now that I actually sweat more is part of why I have noticed all the sudden I was more smelly.
You can experiment with different deodorants to see what works best for you. Different brands contain different ingredients and your body may respond better to some than others. I had to stop using Secret, Degree, Dove and Arm & Hammer. I have found that Lady Mitchum works for me right now.

you can try the medicated deodorant, it is double the cost and can find it with other deodorants, not much you can do otherwise.

I've been making a conscious effort to wear cotton shirts instead of synthetic fabrics. That definitely seems to help too. Hope this doesn't last too long - I barely sweat and have never had BO in my life, this is grossing me out!

I haven't had surgery yet im going to june 27th but my daughter was having an issue with this and my mom bought her this stuff called sweat block at wal mart I think it comes in a box and it is pricey but it works.  You apply it every 7 days and then use a non aluminum deoderant daily.  You get a 5 week supply in the box.

Right there with ya! I noticed mine were very dry so I had to get one without an antiperspirant
