BCBS Anthem Anyone??? (I asked before but just Ohioans)

 Anyone have their surgery they BCBS Anthem?
Or get declined?

I have and had Anthem BCBS when I had my surgery last year.  They were wonderful.  I had a lot of compllications and the insurance has been wonderful about it....so far....

 Wonderful to hear since I'm at the beginning stages.

I have Anthem BCBS, and I was approved within 72 hours of them receiving all of my paperwork, on the first try.  They have RNs who are called Bariatric Program Managers that they assign to you, to check in on you from time to time and give you advice before during and after surgery.  They were great throughout my pre and post op!   

 I had the same experience, I haven't had my surgery yet but just got approved first time in 3 days and have already been called by bc/bs to see if I have any questions the day after I was approved. Very impressed so far! Good luck.

I got approved the first time, too.  I hadn't had 6 months of supervised weight loss effort in the past 2 years so was worried that I wouldn't.  But I'm a Lifetime member of WW and have had other attempts over the past 30 years, and my gyn wrote a letter documenting her counseling of me over the past ten years, plus listing my previous attempts, and BCBS Anthem approved me w/o making me do the six months.  So I'm very pleased.

 I have BCBS Anthem and live in OH. Mine was approved within just a few short days. I honestly started visits to surgeon and everything the very beginning of April and will get my surgery date on Monday. BCBS has been amazing through all of this! Hope it works out for you.
