Slider foods.

Which foods are sliders?  Cottage cheese, yogurt, shakes, I assume?  What else?

Also, I've lost 40 pounds now (preop and post-sleeve), 6 weeks out. Go me!  Yay!

Slider foods can differ some from person to person. Generally, anything soft and mushy is a slider food. Lots of carbs are slider foods, too, even though they aren't soft or mushy. Chips, bread, crackers, cookies, rice, etc.

Dense protein is the best bet for us to avoid slider foods. And if I'm going to eat a slider, then I'm going to have my dense protein first... and that only leaves me enough room for a bite or two of slider.

Thanks for the explanation.  I guess that's why there is no definitive list anywhere to go by.

Just about anything that will break down to a semi liquid food in your mouth can be a slider although it is different for most as to which are the worst. I can and have eaten a whole bag of popcorn before realizing I was eating it compulsively.

Yikes!  That surprises me, actually.  I would think it would be puffy in your tummy!

It's going to depend on the person, but generally assume:

- anything soft and mushy **** cream, cheesecake)
- most high-carb foods

you'll discover this for yourself over time.

Thanks!  I guess six weeks isn't very long in the general scheme of things.  I'm fortunate (maybe) that I haven't hit the limit of my sleeve and had stuff come back up on me.  I measure carefully, and watch my numbers, but I am not bothered by restriction or problems eating.

Cottage Cheese & yogurt aren't major sliders for me. I can still get close to full on 1/2 cup most of the time.
Most if not all carbs are big time sliders for me so I try my best to avoid them.

Carbs like fresh fruit and veg, or the bad stuff?

I haven't really eaten a lot of fruit to know if they are sliders for me. Salad is definitely a slider & other veggies are semi sliders.
