That's for sure Kevin- I have found since my divorce that there just isn't a market for obese women. I hope that one of the many advantages of the VSG and weight loss will be that I can enter the dating scene. I was happily married and would like to be so again.

I agree with Kevin.  I have never been married.  I was however in a long term relationship for 10 years.  We no longer live together.  When I do see him , he always calls me skinny girl and says I'm too little.  I REALLY dont need that.  I need a person who cares for me and wants me to be healthy !!!!

IM a size 6 rt now, 4 mo post sleeve, but in 2008 when i meet my SO i was a size 10, over the years i got bigger, and he didnt say anything, he is happy i am loosing the fat and supports me going to the gym.     my gf married her hubby when she was big and well since she lost wt he got bigger, it strained their relationship,  my daughter bf told her he cant be wiht a woman smaller than him so he is no longer in her life.   it happens,  problems were most likely already present, we were jsut to fat to stand up for ourselves.

My husband left, and then I decided to have surgery. He just now filed. Had the papers served to me the week I had surgery and filed for full custody of our daughter. As IF!!  Yea, a real tool. So I am just hoping and praying for Mr. Right in my future now. :-)

So is it pretty much a doomed relationship if there is a massive change like this?
I'm really upset at the moment to what is going on in our marriage.  I love him whether he is large or small....
But I don't think he can weight (hahaha) for me to get there too...

It's like they said. If it was strong before, you should be ok.

My husband and I just celebrated our 33rd Anniversary  on June 2nd.  Nothing has changed and we are as strong as ever.

Im filing for divorce and my ex and I both had the sleeve. Its not a nasty divorce or anything. We just realized that we don't have anything in common now that our life doesn't revolve around food.

My marriage is as strong as ever.  My wife also has a weight problem and has joined me in eating well and although she isn't sleeved she has lost 80lbs in the past year.

I do find myself feeling a bit judgmental these days when I see her eating crap (which isn't often - but she still does from time to time).  It's easy to get on your high horse when you have surgery and the weight is dropping so quick.

I just learned to bite my lip and give her nothing but encouragment and love instead of criticism.  Relationships are always a compromise.
