I'm so unmotivated!
I was sleeved on 4/26 and feeling great but... I cannot get motivated to exercise! I know it will speed up the weight loss and I will feel really good but...I just can't seem to get motivated! I love to spin, zumba and taebo once I get to the gym. I also have a personal trainer that gave me a weight program but...still no motivation! What did you do to kick in your exercise motivation?
You have to get in that frame of mind to just wanna do it. Try to figure it out, if you can. If it's a special occasion coming up, or heck, just the fact that you didnt have surgery for nothing. Make the most of your joruney. It will only help you to reach your goals faster. As the weight came off for me, that was enough motivation for me to keep going. I dont want to look back.
Best of luck to you!
Best of luck to you!

it's a marathon, not a sprint. start with a small walk around the house or yard. you start to feel good and want to go further. next try around the block or a hike in the woods! worked for me. i was sleeved 8 days ago and already walk 2 miles a day!! feel great :)
I used to be very motivated because I was seeing results. Last fall and winter I moved, got in to a serious relationship and let the gym fall away from my radar. After having the revision surgery to the Sleeve, I couldn't seem to get motivated to go back to the gym.
However, I was lucky enough to find a Sleeve Sister that lives close to me and we started going to the gym together. That has been a great motivating factor for, since I don't want to let her down and wimp out.
Hope you find the motivation again soon....the sooner you get back in, the sooner you will see great results!!

hi bedazzle. I can remember being where you are - i didn't start exercising until my 6th week out. this was partly due to a lack of motivation and partly due to the extreme fatigue i was feeling. i bumped up my vitamins and made up my mind that exercise would be like eating food (which i also lost motivation for) - i do it because it has to be done to keep my body healthy. it's not a reward or a punishment - i don't look for it to always make me feel good nor do i expect to ever just want to do it. lol. but it must be done, none the less.
i know i will probably sound like a broken record with the whole "myfitnesspal.com" - but honestly it helped me get going and to keep keep going. i started off planning my meals and exercise the night before when i took my meds - that way, the next morning my commitment was already made and i just needed to follow through. after a few weeks it became so routine i rarely thought about the effort at all - it's just what i do.
i saw someone else post this as well - but it rang true for me. i started small, with a 30 min. walk the first week - 6 consecutive days (starting and stopping mid-week would be a disaster for me). the second week i moved to 35, the third week i moved to 40, et****il i worked my way up to 70 mins. now i walk between 60 - 70 minutes a day 6 days a week.
i still don't have 'the motivation' to exercise and i doubt very seriously i will ever just want to do it. i was in the military for a number of years so i think i just resist the very concept of getting up early in the morning to do PT - lol. but i do it - and i've changed the purpose of exercise to work for me. i found that exercising or changing your diet for a special event or for short-term goals never worked, because commiting to exercise is just as important as commiting to eating right - it's a life-style not an event.
so exercise... it's not a reward... it's not a punishment... i do it to live and to be healthy - period. hope that helps.

I'm right there with you. Always hated working out and still do. I force myself to go on a 1 mile walk a few times a week with my 5-year old and our dog (just got back a few minutes ago). I lay in bed at night thinking, tomorrow is the day, I am so excited to get into a routine. Then I get up and ugh sets in. I read all these posts about people who never used to work out and are now addicted to it and I think, why can't that be me? I tried with friends, by myself, just the dob, I did curves, and I still pretty much hate everything. Not sure if it is due to all the pain I am in before, during and after or what. Lost my job this year after 23 years, so joining a gym or getting a trainer is out of the question, it is all up to me. I am trying to spend a lot of time doing fun things with my daughter now, just doesn't happen ever day. Good luck - let me know if you find something that works. :)
I was sleeved on 6/19/12. I cant stop moving. Once I got up in the hospital I cant stop. One I am self employed so I am really motivated to get back to work. But even then when I am working its 6 days a week. Like someone said in the replies take your time getting back into it. I know once I start the motivation soon follows.

I was sleeved the day after you. We're almost twins!
I am not working out, either. It's too hot for me to go out and do anything, plus, like you, I simply don't like to!
However I do like using Wii Fitness. I overdid it a couple of weeks ago and was worried that I might be doing too much, but when I saw my doc he said I can do anything I want, even play rugby (ha, as if) so I dont have any excuses any more.
The Wii also has Dance, Dance and other really physical activities. I like Wii Fitness because it tracks my activity and weight, etc.
