OT: Fashion/nice dress
This is the dress I ended up buying to wear to my son's outdoor, day-time Hawaiian wedding. Dress was meant to be casual--sundresses, etc.--but I don't yet have a body that I felt looked good in a sundress. I thought I'd share it because the way the front drapes hides a lot of bulges! It also comes in black which I really love and may buy in a smaller size when I get down to my goal weight. But as a redhead with green eyes, the olive was perfect for the wedding.
It's a heavier knit than I expected, probably slightly heavier than I really wanted. Almost like a light sweater knit. But it was comfortable, draped beautifully, and travels like a dream.

I bought it in an XL (largest size) when I was still in a 2X, hoping it would fit at the right time. Even two weeks prior to the wedding I didn't like the way it looked on me, even though I was wearing some XLs. I kept trying other dresses, and then the week of the wedding I put it on to show my DIL and friend, and we all liked it. Whew!
Which brings up a side-issue. How many times have we bought smaller sizes because we know we're going to fit into them when we've been on the new diet long enough? In my case, not often, because I didn't trust myself to get that far, even if it was only one size smaller. How the sleeve has changed things!

Love the dress. I have the same coloring and olive always works for me too!
I was one of those people who bought things just a little too tight because I was sure I'd lose five or ten pounds. And I did so just often enough to reinforce to myself that was a good idea.
But most of the time I didn't and I ended up with too tight clothes that I wouldn't dare wear in public but never returned either because I was sure I'd get there eventually. Guess what? NOW is eventually...and I'm getting into some of those now!

That is a lovely dress and you, I'm sure, were a lovely MOG. I've been one twice -- first son's wedding, the MOB wanted to wear a pants set, so I had to follow suit -- in a mint green suit as she "stole" my usual pink. Second son's wedding, traveled a distance and wore a beaded navy top w/plain matching pants as the MOB "stole" my pink again LOL LOL LOL No problem. I don't think I'm going to want to see pix of myself at the weddings again. The brides and grooms are the stars anyway. At least you are at nice weight now and won't have to feel uncomfy looking at the pix in the future.
BTW, I always enjoy your posts
