milk of magnesia for immediate relief.  otherwise miralax works wonders for me.  i take it for about 3 days in a row and then i'm fine the rest of the week without taking it.  then they constipation cycle starts all over again because i usually end up waiting 1 day too long before starting it again!  i had severe issues 3 months out with it.  miralax saved me and i've been using it for 5 months.

I had the same annoyance. I was told to take 1/2 the recommended dosage of Milk of Magnesia. Works within 3 hours. Ahhh Relief

Well, here's more TMI, but it works.  If you've got a tennis ball stuck at the gate, so to speak, all the Miralax in the world isn't going to get you unstuck, at least it didn't help me.  What did the trick was glycerin bulbs.  The glycerin attracts water from the surrounding tissue and softens things right up.  Might take a couple of treatments, but things will get moving.  After that, your stool softening regimen will keep you from getting to that same place again.

Omg! That's it! It's a darn tennis ball, sadly, I know EXACTLY what you mean, and that's exactly what I have. These glycerin bulbs your talking about, Is it like the fleet enemas? If not, Do I need an rx for them? Or is it something I can buy otc? Today was torture! And I didn't know how or really want to describe it, but you did it for me thank you. How the heck do we end up with tennis balls? Lol

You can get them otc, in the laxative section.  They're not hugely popular, strangely, given how well they work, maybe it's the ick factor, so they won't be highly visible.  They're made by Fleet, but not nearly as much volume as an enema.  Maybe an ounce.  Four to a box, it's a little clear plastic bulb with a long narrow "injector" at the top.  You get the idea.  Here's a link - you can see what it looks like from the pic on the box.

btw once I got unstuck, I started on a daily Miralax regimen, and that kept me pretty regular for about 18 months.  Then things were getting a little too loose, so I switched to every other day, and have been doing that for about 6 months.  I use the Costco generic version of Miralax.

A couple weeks ago I went seriously low carb again, and that plugged me up again for several days.  Glycerin to the rescue!

If you were further out I would suggest two bites of a fiber one bar. Only thing that helps me but I can't eat a whole one, and to make up for the carbs I only do it on days I have exercised. I get virtually NO fiber on this high protein, almost no carb diet. I don't have room for fruits or veggies for the most part so that's not an option if I still want to make my protein goals. Thankfully I don't have any big problems in that area, strange actually because I should!

I have to mix a dose of benefiber into my fluids three times a day. Of course, if I look at my totals in mfp and see that I've managed to eat a little fiber somehow, I might take that down a dose that day... but that doesn't happen often, since my carbs are usually between 20 and 30/day.

Good luck finding your magic formula. It can be very frustrating!

I take two fiber gummies every morning and Metamucil capsules everyday with my vitamin regiment. That usually takes care of it as far as keeping things normal, though it seems every couple weeks I have an issue still.

Being in maintenance I'm experimenting with adding some fruit back into my diet, but if you're in weightloss I wouldn't recommend it.

This has been an issue for me too! I tried the Miralax and other counter solutions many just made me very sick with sweats, vomiting and dry heaves.

I have never had a cup of coffee in my life. NEVER. But someone suggested I may want to try coffee. That was a week ago. I have had two cups of coffee in a week and they WoW worked wonders and cleaned all my pipes.

Getting enough water was suggested but that did not solve my trouble either.

Remember you are consuming less too.

Blessings bunches
