Last meal?
I did some last meals prior to the pre-op protein diet I was on. I was supposed to loose about 11 pounds pre-op. The day before surgery I was weighed in and passed with pounds to spare. The night before surgery I was told not to eat anything after midnight. Then my "bad"
last meal occurred.
I am from upstate NY and love buffalo wings done right. I was staying at a hotel near the hospital. A Hilton Garden. They have a restaurant in the hotel. I didn't have a vehicle and there were few options in walking distance. It was a Wednesday night and they had a wing special ... I think it was .45 cent wings or something a little less. They mentioned that they also happened to use Texas Pete sauce. I couldn't resist. I ordered 10. That was their minimum order size. After the 10 I was feeling OK but kind of wanted more but not 10 more. I explained the situation to the wait staff and they bent the rules and allowed me another 1/2 order of 5.
I ate them all. I felt a little bad about it and was actually overly full. I ate beyond when I should have stopped. I really enjoy wings and that first batch of 10 was tasting so good. That was my last meal the night before surgery. I always have wondered if the surgeon could tell that I might have cheated that night. These were eaten about 6pm and surgery wasn't until about noon the next day. I have no idea how quickly things move through my system but I would guess that some evidence was left behind so to speak.
Ever since I have been good with the exception that I still eat too fast. Tonight I am a bit uncomfortable with having eaten two hard boiled eggs too quickly. I am not sure if I can figure out how to slow myself down. I really seriously need to work on that.

Yep, and I have zero regrets about it. And, all I had to do pre-op was a week of low carb/high protein with nothing the after midnight the night before. I was allowed to have a normal meal the night before my revision without any restrictions. It happened to be a day when my band allowed me to eat, and I did just that plus some.

I did six weeks of last meals. I was doing great not gaining or losing until my surgeon removed my lap band. I babied my stomach for a week and then became ravenous for the next 6 weeks which also included Thanksgiving, Christmas and a few fabulous days in NYC. I gained 15 lbs in 6 weeks. I guess my unfilled lap band was provided me with some restriction.
